These Creator Terms are a binding agreement between you, as a creator on Crowned, and Central Standardised Services Ltd., a private limited company registered in the Republic of Cyprus ("Crowned", "we", "us"). They apply in addition to the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Refund & Cancellation Policy, all of which are incorporated into this agreement. Our Privacy Notice explains how personal data is handled. By creating a creator account you accept these Creator Terms.
1. Eligibility
To open and keep a creator account you must:
- be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts;
- be located in a country supported for payouts by our payment provider, as shown during onboarding;
- register with accurate information and keep it accurate;
- operate only one account, unless we agree otherwise.
We may decline an account application, or require additional information before or after approval, in accordance with applicable law. If someone assists you with your account, you remain fully responsible for everything done through it. Our relationship is with you alone.
2. Your page
You claim a username, which becomes your page's address. Usernames must meet the format shown in the product, and certain names are reserved. We may reclaim a username where required by law, by these terms, or to protect the rights of others.
You publish your profile and your items within the formats and limits shown in the product. Your page is public and can be viewed by anyone with the link. Images you upload are re-encoded and served in resized form and may carry a Crowned watermark; original uploads are deleted after processing.
3. Payments through Stripe
To receive money you must connect a payment account with our payment provider, Stripe, through Stripe's hosted onboarding. Stripe collects and holds your identity and banking information under its own terms; Crowned does not store your identity documents or bank details.
By connecting, you agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, including the Stripe Terms of Service, as updated by Stripe from time to time. Payouts of your earnings are made by Stripe under its schedule and terms. Costs charged by Stripe in connection with your account, including account fees and payout fees, are borne by you and may be deducted from amounts otherwise payable to you.
4. What you list, and your responsibilities
Creators may list one-time items and monthly subscriptions, priced within the limits shown in the product. A payment made on your page is money the payer chooses to send to you; the item describes what their support is for. Crowned presents your page and collects the payment on your behalf, and a payment made through Crowned is received by you.
You are responsible for:
- describing each item and subscription accurately, so payers know what their support is for;
- anything you choose to do for a payer in return, which happens outside Crowned and is yours alone;
- complying with all laws applicable to you, where you are, including your own taxes on what you receive;
- your relationship with your payers, including responding to their reasonable queries.
Anything between you and a payer beyond the payment itself is between the two of you. Crowned is not a party to it.
5. Fees
Payers pay a service fee on each payment, shown as its own line at checkout. The service fee is Crowned's revenue. You receive the price you set for your item or subscription, less any costs borne by you under Section 3 and any deductions permitted by this agreement. We may change the fee structure, and will give notice of changes that materially affect you by reasonable means.
6. Refunds, chargebacks, and deductions
Refunds are issued by Crowned through Stripe in accordance with the Refund & Cancellation Policy. When a payment you received is refunded, the corresponding transfer to you is reversed, and this may affect the timing or availability of amounts payable to you.
When a payer's bank reverses a payment (a chargeback), the disputed amount is borne by you, and Crowned bears the payment provider's dispute fee. We may deduct amounts you owe under this section, and amounts equal to loss we suffer as a result of your breach of this agreement, from amounts otherwise payable to you, in accordance with applicable law.
7. Taxes
You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including determining, reporting, and paying all taxes that apply to your earnings in your jurisdiction. Crowned does not provide tax advice and, except where required by applicable law, does not calculate, collect, or remit taxes on your behalf. We may provide information to tax authorities where required by applicable law.
8. Your content and licence to us
You keep ownership of the content you publish on Crowned. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (including re-encoding, resizing, and watermarking), display, and distribute your content as needed to operate Crowned and provide the service, including through our service providers. This licence ends when your content is deleted from Crowned, except as needed for legal compliance, backups, and record keeping.
You warrant that:
- you own your content or hold all rights needed to publish it on Crowned;
- your content, items, and page comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and applicable law;
- any person shown in your content has given informed consent to appear in it and to its publication.
You will indemnify us for loss or damage we suffer if any of these warranties is untrue.
9. Rules and moderation
Everything you list and publish must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and with the restricted business terms of our payment provider. Content may be reviewed before publication and at any time afterwards, using human review and technology, in accordance with applicable law.
We may remove content, restrict features, decline or unpublish listings, suspend or terminate accounts, and pause or withhold payments where we determine, acting reasonably, that this agreement or our policies have been breached, that there is a risk of fraud or illegality, or where required by applicable law or our payment provider. Except where prohibited by law, we will notify you when we take such action, give a statement of reasons where required by applicable law, and offer a means of appeal as described in the Acceptable Use Policy.
10. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
We may terminate this agreement with notice, at any time, in accordance with applicable law. We may act immediately and without prior warning where necessary to review suspected serious breaches, fraud, or unlawful activity, or where required by our payment provider or by law.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, your page and sign-in close at once and your username is never reused; running subscriptions end at the close of their paid period, and a subscription whose renewal payment had failed ends at once; your profile details and images are removed at once; your balance is paid out by Stripe under its terms and your connected account is closed once nothing is left on it; payment records are kept as the law requires, with no personal details attached.
11. Our liability to you
You use Crowned as a business user. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude implied conditions and warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, or loss of goodwill. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of payment providers or other third parties, or for events outside our reasonable control.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to this agreement is limited to the greater of (i) the total service fees earned by Crowned on payments to you in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (ii) USD 5,000, unless a higher cap is required by mandatory law. Any claim must be brought within one year of the date it arose, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. General
We may update these Creator Terms from time to time. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will notify you where possible so you can close your account before the change takes effect; continued use after that constitutes acceptance. If any part of this agreement is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce is not a waiver. We may assign this agreement as necessary to operate Crowned. This agreement does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship, except that you appoint Crowned as your limited agent solely for collecting payments from payers on your behalf.
13. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction over claims arising from it, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
